Is there a workout I can do to make me tap faster?

Well, speed is not the only thing you should be aiming for in tap. Even though you will need some speed to do some choreographies. Musicality, swing, feelings and your own style is much more important than speed. (I think :)
But if you do feel that you want to get more speed to be able to execute some steps to faster music, then I recommend working with Metronome. You can change speed to your liking (don't have to look for songs that is right speed for you) Start slow, then slowly pick up the tempo. Then once you get to the speed you are reaching for. Then it will be good to dance to a music that is in the tempo and style that fits the steps to get the feeling how it fits with music.
